Our Mission and Charitable Purpose
Shakespeare at Home Limited is a charitable non-profit Company Limited by Guarantee (CLG) registered in England and Wales 16063301. We are a Certified Social Enterprise and are listed in the Social Enterprise UK directory. Our purpose is to advance education and promote community development for the public benefit, with a focus on the works, life, and world of William Shakespeare and the Renaissance, whilst operating and encouraging positive environmental impact. 
We are a non-profit organisation. This means that all the resources, activities, and any income we generate are used exclusively to further our charitable objectives. No profits are distributed to members or directors; everything we do exists to benefit our communities and audiences.
What We Do
We provide free, high-quality educational and cultural resources on Shakespeare and the Renaissance to audiences around the world.
Our work encourages creativity, curiosity, confidence, and lifelong learning through theatre, performance, arts, and education.
We are committed to inclusivity and neurodiversity, ensuring our resources and activities are accessible to people of all ages, backgrounds, and learning styles.
Our Promise to the Public
1) All our resources and activities are freely available, with no cost or barrier to participation.
2) We operate openly, transparently, and in accordance with the Charities Act 2011, always putting the public benefit first.
3) Any income we receive is reinvested in our work to support education, arts, and community development globally.

Shakespeare at Home Limited 
The objects of the Company are to advance education and promote community development for the public benefit, in particular (but not exclusively) by promoting the study, understanding and appreciation of the works, life and historical context of William Shakespeare and the Renaissance period, through the provision of free, accessible educational, artistic and cultural resources in the UK and internationally.
Public Benefit Statement
Shakespeare at Home exists to advance education and promote community development for the public benefit through the encouragement of theatre, arts, audio and performance-based learning focused on the works, life and historical context of William Shakespeare and the Renaissance period.
Shakespeare at Home provides free, high-quality educational and cultural resources that are openly accessible to the public, both in the UK and internationally. By removing financial and social barriers to access, the Company ensures that its activities are inclusive and available to people of all ages, backgrounds and levels of prior engagement.
The activities of Shakespeare at Home are designed to foster curiosity, confidence, creativity and critical thinking through engagement with literature, performance and cultural heritage. In doing so, the Company supports lifelong learning, cultural participation and community connection.
Neurodiversity and inclusivity are embedded as core principles in the design and delivery of the Company’s educational resources, ensuring that they are accessible and welcoming to individuals with diverse learning styles and needs, in furtherance of the Company’s charitable objects.
The public benefit provided by the Company is demonstrated through the free distribution of its resources, the educational and cultural outcomes achieved by participants, and the wider encouragement of engagement with the arts as a means of personal development and community enrichment.
Environmental Commitment
The company is committed to minimising its environmental impact and promoting sustainability. 
In furtherance of its objects, the Company shall seek to adopt responsible environmental practices, including the efficient use of resources, reduction of waste and emissions, sustainable procurement where reasonably practicable, and compliance with all applicable environmental legislation and standards. 
The Directors shall have regard to environmental considerations in decision-making and shall encourage environmentally responsible behaviour among members, employees, volunteers, contractors, and partners. 
The Company is a member of Love Paper which is a global campaign promoting the sustainable and attractive attributes of print, paper and paper packaging which aligns to the furtherance of the Company objects.
